Memento Mori – Directing Erosion Morphologies
Advisor: Gur Tal
In nature, the decay of one thing is the formation of another. This project relies on decomposition processes to design morphologies that change over time. In collaboration with the Weizmann Institute, I worked on developing composite materials printed in 3D that enabled pre-planned erosion. These objects are test cases taken from the world of monuments and memorials. Using technology, the project examines new ways of looking at the lifespan of an object.
Not intended to be morbid, Memento Mori –“Remember you must die” – is meant to serve as reminder to inspire, motivate, and clarify.
