Smart Home Wildfire Protection System
In November 2018, more than 18,000 homes and businesses were destroyed by wildfires in Ventura County, Califorina. Most of the residents were evacuated a few hours before the wildfire reached their area. In an attempt to save their property, some remained behind and used hoses to soak the roofs with water. When the fire reached their area, it skipped these groups of houses. Wet-Coat project is an automated protection system that operates in two stages – spraying water mist in the home area in advance and covering the roof with flame retardant once fire is detected.
